Overview
Flareon VMAX Single Strike has an attack that has the potential to OHKO any Pokemon. Its attack, Max Eruption deals 100 damage times no of Energy cards discarded from top 5 cards from your deck when you use this attack. And discarding 4 Energy from top 5 cards of your deck [400 damage] is strong enough to knock out any VMAX Pokemon.
In order to increase your chance of having many Energy cards on top part of your deck, there is no doubt you Flareon VMAX Single Strike deck must consist of higher portion of Energy cards than Trainer and Pokemon cards. Doing so, you don't have to worry too much about getting zero damage from Max Burst.
On the other hand, Flareon V Single Strike doesn't have strong attack. But, its first attack, Burning Breath is still useful as it has an effect that allows you to attach 1 Fire Energy from your deck to it. So, you can use this effect to accelerate Energy setup before you evolving it into Flareon VMAX Single Strike.
Energy Setup
You need to attach 1 Fire Energy and 2 Colorless Energy to Flareon VMAX Single Strike in order to use Max Eruption. With the help of Elemental Badge [Pokemon Tool], you can make Max Eruption attack cos 1 Colorless Energy less. This mean you will be able to attack using Max Eruption within 2 turns instead of 3 turns.
Deck Thinning
In order to bring out the max potential of Flareon VMAX Single Strike deck, your deck must have a strategy to remove as much as Trainers and Pokemon from deck. Only then, your deck will be left with Energy cards and you can easily deal high damage with Max Eruption.
One way to do is to use Green's Exploration and Guzma & Hala. The first card allows you to r 2 find Trainers from your deck while the second cards allows you to find 1 Special Energy, 1 Pokemon Tool and 1 Stadium from your deck by discarding 2 cards from your hand.
All the cards you find by using above Supporter Cards can be used on the spot. For instance, Items like Quick Ball and Great Ball can be used straightaway after you use Green Exploration to find them. In other words, all cards you found using above Supporter cards will help you in increasing your chance of having Energy Cards in top part of your deck.
Special Energy
Since Guzma & Hala is going to be used, it is more reasonable to add Special Energy cards that go well with Flareon VMAX Single Strike. Capture Energy will allows you set up Flareon V Single Strike on your bench while Single Strike Energy will increase damage output of Max Eruption by 20.
Additional Attacker
In the late game, there will be a lot of Energy Cards in your discard pile due to Max Eruption Effect. This is when Volcarona V become powerful. Because its first attack, Surging Fire has 20 base damage and does 20 extra damage for each Basic Energy card in your discard pile. After using Surging Fire, you have to shuffle all those Basic Energy into your deck. On top of that, you only need 1 Fire Energy to use Surging Fire.
Shuffling Basic Energy cards into your deck is also good for Max Eruption as this increase the chances having more Energy cards in top part of your deck.
